Design File Guidelines

Direct to Garment Printing

For best results we ask for a 300dpi PNG to preserve your transparent background. We also ask for you to use RGB colour values when designing your artwork since our printing software converts these values to CYMK for print. The maximum printing size for DTG is 32cm x 50cm.

Vinyl Printing

Vinyl excels at simple, bold and single colour designs; send your artwork in vector format, either as an AI or EPS file, so we can achieve the boldest print possible. The largest size we can heat press is 40cm x 50cm, but each product has a different printable area.

Tote Bags and Cushions

Tote bags and cushions use sublimation printing. Artwork is best supplied as a 300 dpi JPEG. Please use CYMK colour values and provide artwork at the following sizes:

Tote Bags: 41.5 x 44cm including bleed (approx 37 x 41cm when sewn)

Throw Cushions: 44 x 44cm including bleed (approx 39 x 39cm when sewn)

Screen Printing

A high quality printing PDF or vector file is perfect for screen printing. Vector files can be supplied in either AI or EPS format. Our standard screen printing area is anything up to A3, though over-size printing is available. Please keep in mind that different products have different printable areas, so A3 may not always be possible.

Sublimation Printing

Your artwork is best supplied as a 300dpi PNG file to preserve any transparency. Please use CYMK colour values and a maximum size of up to A3 dimensions.

Embroidery requires a digitised file, but don’t worry if you don’t have this; Inkthreadable can digitise your artwork for you. We can work with most formats, like PNGs, JPGs, PDFs or vector files.

You can find a lot more information about the printing processes in our FAQ, though if this doesn’t answer your questions then get in touch with the Inkthreadable team.
