Entirely ethical fulfilment with Stanley/Stella

Stacey Dooley’s recent BBC documentary was a bit of an eye opener for the fashion industry.

As a company, Inkthreadable is conscious of the damage the industry does to the environment and has been actively taking steps towards positive change. And one of those steps is introducing a brand that’s breaking the mould.

Just how responsible are Stanley/Stella?

Stanley/Stella is a premium clothing brand that’s eco-friendly with a strong social responsibility policy. The products that aren’t organic cotton are made from recycled materials, and they believe in building a better future for all.

“We believe that fair trade and sustainable development are natural: respecting your skin with soft materials; respecting the men and women who make your clothes with dignified working conditions; and respecting the world that we live in by limiting our impact on the environment.”

They’re an entirely ethical brand, with certifications in all the right places:

  • GOTS, the Global Organic Textile Standard label. This super strict certification tracks the chain of production, from cotton farms through to the manufactured products being exported. It certifies that Stanley/Stella cotton is GMO-free, is grown without the use of chemicals, and is processed and dyed without using any banned toxic substances.
  • GRS, the Global Recycled Standard label. This certifies that Stanley/Stella do indeed use recycled materials during manufacture: polyester, from plastic bottles, and cotton, from cutting waste. The label also guarantees that STanley/Stella comply with other social and environmental criteria. Things like treatment of waste water, the absence of toxic additives, and respect for working conditions in partner factories.
  • OEKO-TEX Standard 100. This certifies the absence of harmful chemical substances in all Stanley/Stella products. The certification gives consumers confidence that any products with this label have been manufactured in a way that prioritises the prohibition of potentially harmful substances, the absence of chemical substances harmful to health and the environment, and a restriction on the lead content of dyes.
  • Fair Wear Foundation. Stanley/Stella are a recognised member of the Fair Wear Foundation, an organisation working to improve workplace conditions in the garment and textile industry.

As an ethical print on demand supplier, Stanley/Stella's ethical and social responsibility practices are a refreshing change of pace for Inkthreadable. Paired with our eco-friendly packaging, OEKO-TEX approved inks and waterless printing systems we can now confidently offer our customers an ethical and eco-friendly drop shipping service, right through from farm to delivery to your end user.

We think that's amazing for the textile industry.
