Massive growth sparks investment in new technologies for Inkthreadable
Inkthreadable is investing in new hardware, software and warehouse space following high growth in their past financial year to continue offering a high-quality print on demand service for start-ups and small businesses.
The high demand for drop shipping custom printed clothing and accessories has increased in the past year, with more and more small businesses and start-ups ordering their products on demand through Inkthreadable due to eliminating the need for start-up capital and stock. In a bid to not only maintain but enhance the experience of these businesses, Inkthreadable is investing resources into new printing equipment, materials, premises, and bespoke web-to-print, order management and integration software.
Inkthreadable is investing in new Kornit Storm Hexa printers to be used alongside the 10 Polyprint TexJet printers currently used. They’ve also made the decision to relocate to a warehouse space four times larger than currently used in order to house the new printing equipment. Alongside the hardware update, Inkthreadable is currently developing bespoke order management software to handle the complexity of operating a just-in-time manufacturing process for a high volume of low quantity orders. Since April 2016, Inkthreadable has integrated with two major worldwide ecommerce platforms, Shopify and WooCommerce, and integrations for more ecommerce platforms are already in development.
Alex Cunliffe, Managing Director of Inkthreadable said: “The past 12 months has been both intense and exciting for Inkthreadable. We didn’t expect the growth we’ve seen, or the volume of orders that came with it, but our team has risen to the challenge and we’re now ready to push forward with new technologies to offer services above and beyond what our customers expect.”
“Our new premises are huge, with plenty of room to expand, but the new hardware and software we’re bringing on board is what really excites me. The bespoke order management system will completely overhaul the way we handle order processing, allow greater transparency of orders statuses for customers, and new ecommerce platform integrations will give current and future customers flexibility in the way they use our services.”
